Centre Stage

These are recordings of music lying somewhere in the middle of Nicholas Scott-Burt's stylistic range, and most typical of his work as a whole.

Sleep, now sorrow fade was composed in memory of Princess Diana;

Quia fecit mihi magna is from the Magnificat of 1996, performed here in the chamber, rather than the orchestral version;

A Kindly Man of unending Patience and Banquets, Entertaining and Mindless Persecution are two movements from The King and the Magic Choir (2001) for piano and narrator. It is a 10-movement suite telling the story of a battle of wits between a foolish king and his chief musician (the "kindly man");

Come unto these Yellow Sands, Full Fathom Five and Where the Bee Sucks are from incidental music for The Tempest, composed for a school production in 2000.
