Toccata in Fours from the Sinfonia Concertante for 11 solo strings (2005)

This is the second movement of three, the first entitled Sinfonia in Fives, and the last Canon in Threes. Sinfonia, Toccata and Canon refer to the character of the movements, and "in fives/fours/threes" to aspects of their rhythmic structure.

Tableau 1 and Tableau 2 from Sonate en Tableaux for organ (2005)

The Sonata has five movements: Tableaux 1, 2, 3 and 4 which are all very distinct in character and unrelated in material; and the fifth, Tableaux-en-Sonate which links all of the previous movements into a cohesive whole. The frenetic Tableau 1 is entirely derived from rising and falling Fibonacci sequences; Tableau 2 is its complete opposite in mood and character.

The "Outpouring of Grief" (based on the Crucifixus a 8 by Antonio Lotti) from Good Friday (2006-7)

Good Friday is a Chamber Oratorio in five movements for soloists, double choir and 14 instruments. This short extract comes from the end of Part 4, Sunset, following the death of Christ.
