Born in Bristol, 1962
 Educated at Reading School
Higher education at the University of Bristol (BA Hons 1984, M.Mus 1988) 
Studied composition under Derek Bourgeois, Robert Saxton, Adrian Beaumont;
Advanced studies also as an organist and choir trainer
1987-2002, Director of Music at Bilton Grange School, Rugby
 in 2002 began a freelance career
 Currently Director of Music, St Andrew's Church, Rugby; visiting music staff Uppingham School; ABRSM examiner, Music Director Daventry Choral Society, Conductor, Univ of Northampton Choir.
 
Married to the violinist Cathy Scott-Burt, with 4 children
